I recently saw a friend's post. In it she shared a quote referring to the gospel as humanity being "sinful and flawed" in ourselves, yet more "loved and accepted" in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope. My heart ached. From since way too long ago, this is the "gospel" the Church has portrayed. We've perpetuated a theology based on a belief that humanity is depraved, unworthy of love, and we have seen ourselves as separate from Jesus.
I am so very thankful for Jesus! When I realized that He is the exact representation of the Father (who IS Love), it sent me on a journey over these past years... to discover and KNOW this One who is "God made flesh." His example has changed my life forever! I used to think the Father couldn't see me, except through Jesus... that He loved me only because of Jesus. Truth is, He has always loved ALL of humanity all the while we were in sin and came INTO the mess of it, to reveal Himself. No longer am I obligated into a relationship with Him, but rather I am privileged to have been chosen IN Him, since the creation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4) I love Him, because He first loved me!
The implications of living in Love rather than separation is the understanding of my purpose. I am forever partnered with Him and am honored to release his Kingdom "on earth as it is in Heaven."
