Why I Write

People ask me why I write.
I’ve always wanted to write. As a child I journaled, wrote encouraging notes, and kept in touch with pen pals from camp. (Remember—that was back in a day we didn’t have cell phones or email, or the internet. Believe it or not, my family didn’t even have a TV while I was growing up. So I wrote.)
But what inspired me to publish a book? Though I have always loved recording my thoughts and encouraging others, it wasn’t always clear to me how my words could affect others in such a positive way.
Fast forward a decade or two. During the years after “growing up,” I experienced some major inner healing. God did a work in my heart and mind that rejuvenated my whole life from the inside out. And I just knew—the freedom and joy I had found in Jesus could not be contained—and neither could it be kept hidden away! Now I had something to say.
So here I am. I wrote a book and it will be published in less than a month. I am thrilled, ecstatic, and filled with excitement—mostly because I know the freedom I’ve encountered isn’t just for me. The joy I’ve found in Jesus isn’t just for some people; it’s for ALL people! God wants every single person to live fully aware of His great love and acceptance. He wants us to know what it means that we are his beloved children!
That’s why I write.
